Welcome to the website of 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette, Inc.

Established in 2009 as an affiliate of the 100 Black Men of America, the 100 Black Men of Greater Lafayette (100 BMOGL) was created to fill a vital void: preparing area youth for a successful future. Our primary goal is to pour the best version of our adult selves into every young person we meet. As a coalition of men from diverse backgrounds, we are united by a shared mission to inform, restore, transform, and inspire youth, showing them that greatness is within reach if they are open to growth.

Having served 36 years with the Lafayette Fire Department, I have seen firsthand the power of positive imagery. Being part of such a deeply respected profession is a privilege I don’t take lightly; it is crucial for young people to see leaders who look like them, expanding their sense of what is possible.

Grounded in our national organization’s four pillars—Mentoring, Education, Economic Empowerment, and Health & Wellness—we design sustainable programs that offer a holistic approach to youth development. Ultimately, we aim to shape young people into thriving, valuable contributors to both their communities and the workforce. We stand firm in our national motto, “What They See Is What They’ll Be“, alongside our local commitment to being “At Your Very Best”.

Our mission is to inform, transform, and restore our youth to their God-given purpose—but we can’t do it alone. The 100 deeply believes in the timeless adage that “it takes a village to raise a child,” and we hope our vibrant community will join us for the ride.
